2019 Annual Conference

Delta St. John’s Conference Centre

The Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) is pleased to announce its 50th annual conference, “New Horizons”, being held for the first time in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador from August 12th to the 15th, 2019.

This year’s event will celebrate the impact the ACE conferences have had in the past 50 years on the field of ergonomics and human factors, as well as explore the future of ergonomics and the new horizons it can influence in both academia and work practices.

The 2019 conference will be of interest to ergonomics/human factors professionals, researchers and students, as well as members of allied professions including health, safety, rehabilitation, industrial hygiene, industrial design, human resources, psychology, engineering, usability, user experience, information technology and social media, and educators.  The event will include speakers from the Atlantic Provinces with an impact in the international field of ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, and user experiences.  It will also include practicing ergonomists, researchers, and students, all of which will be presenting their most recent work in oral presentations, panel discussions, and workshops.   There will also be many opportunities for networking and learning about exciting products and services in the field.

The technical program (August 13-15) will include research studies, applied studies, applied work practices, and panel discussions on a range of topics spanning the physical, cognitive, behavioural, psychosocial, and organizational aspects of ergonomics and human factors.  The pre-conference workshops (August 12) will offer professional development opportunities.  You are invited to contribute to this conference by submitting abstract and workshop proposals in either French or English. Guidelines and deadlines for submissions will be made available on the ACE website in December 2019. The annual student paper competition in the Undergraduate, Masters and PhD Level will be held in conjunction with the conference.
